The Forbidden Zone

Some things are just too nasty, even for us. Trying these will break the mood immediately.

Stern Disapproval - man with arms crossed looking disapproving

space_bar No Spaces Allowed

"You can't have gaps in your package. It ruins the friction."

A computer reads a space as "Stop! I'm done!" If you write sexy man , the computer thinks sexy is one thing and man is a totally different surprise it wasn't expecting. Keep it tight. Keep it connected.

fiber_manual_record No Periods

"Don't stop the flow until you're truly finished."

In many languages, a dot means "enter inside me." (e.g., User.name accesses the name *inside* the User). If you use a dot in the name itself, the computer tries to penetrate an object that isn't ready. Always ask for consent (by defining the object first).

horizontal_rule flatcase

"Limp and lifeless."

alllowercase with no definition, no humps, no length. Just a sad, shapeless blob of text. Hard to read, hard to love. Don't be a flatcase.
